Special Camping Programme

Special Camping Programmes organized by SCAD Polytechnic College NSS .Special Camping forms an integral part of National Service Scheme. It has special appeal to the youth as it provides unique opportunities to the students for group living, collective experience sharing and constant interaction with community. Special campings are organised generally on various developmental issues of national importance. In the past the themes of the Special Camping Programmes have been 'Youth Against Famine', 'Youth Against Dirt and Disease', 'Youth for Rural Reconstruction', 'Youth for Eco-Development' and 'Youth for Mass Literacy', 'Youth for National Integration & Social Harmony'. 'Youth for Sustainable Development with special focus on Watershed Management and Wasteland Development. Every year 50 percent of the volunteers of each NSS unit are expected to participate in special camps which is of five days duration.

Academics and extracurricular activities are part of education at SCAD Polytechnic College. NSS volunteers from our college actively do social activities for the development of society without any hesitation. Every year, a seven-day camp for NSS volunteers takes place at the college and in the nearby villages. Today (24/03/2023), day - 04 of the camp took place at Pattamadai village. 35 NSS Volunteers actively participated in the cleaning campaign of Pattamadai Sivan Temple. The public greatly appreciated the enthusiasm of our students. In the second session of camp A Mobile Awareness Program was conducted. Mr. Ganeshan Rtd Officer Tamilnadu Grama Bank gave a speech in this event. Staff incharges Mr.Shankar, Lecturer/Maths and Mr.Velselvan, Lecturer/Civil were also guided the students.
